Petite, pretty, honest Aspie woman with high EQ/IQ

Youthfully mature, long-haired, even-tempered, slender w/slight athletic build, 5'3" short, brown-eyed, well-educated, responsible, witty. Equally creative (lifelong musician, singer, writer) and proficient with variety of software technologies (have been/can be corporate workaholic). Native New Yorker, Vegetarian and Buddhist (yet not dogmatic about any of this). Cooks well for others. No children of my own, but quite good with kids from 1 - 68 years old. "Sports" = Yoga, hiking, dance, bicycling, sailing, walks on the beach (miss the ocean!). Interested in Geology, Ecology, Mycology. Have no hidden agendas. Find emotional strategists appalling. Believer in true friendship that flows both ways. Accept and like myself (well..most of the time) and hope you're much the same. Natural, low-maintenance, high-functioning person. Love cats, dogs, wildlife (not fearful of any creature with exception of unkind humans).

Leisure & Fun

TV preferencesI don't like TV
Favorite TV showsI assiduously avoid most commercial television, unless it is something very clever and unique. I will watch intelligent and informative shows on PBS and similar venues (science, philosophy, travel, historical, musical, fine art...).
Favorite movies typesScience fiction, Comedy, Drama, Documentary, Animation
Favorite moviesI love everything from slapstick comedies of the 1920's - 1930's to "All Dogs Go To Heaven" to just about every film made by Akira Kurosawa, Wim Wenders, Kevin Smith, John Waters, Werner Herzog, Coen Brothers, Woody Allen (even serious ones).
Music typesCountry, Rock, Classical, Blues, Jazz, Latin, Dance, Soul, Reggae, Gospel, Folk, Punk
Favorite artistsAgain, too numerous to mention. I grew up on a diet of C&W and was Classical viola prodigy who got into Rock, Blues and Jazz and switched to violin. Favor anything truly great, original, astonishing, truthful. Much more "Alternative" than "Top 40".
Reading selectionAncient, Auto-biography, Classic, Computers, Fiction, Humor, Instructional, Music, Nature, Philosophy, Reference, Satire, Science, Science fiction, Technical
Idea of funDiscovering something I'd missed before. Solving problems. Walking on the beach. Going outdoors in stormy weather. Bursting into song or dance for no apparent reason. Swimming. A spirited game of Air Hockey. Shopping for radiometers & such.

Views

Political viewsI don't like politics
Goal in lifenot something I can really narrow to a single focal point. In a general sense, I'd like to eliminate concepts like Duality, Bigotry, Hatred and Cruelty from humanity and promote understanding and mutual respect. And I'd like to free Tibet, while I'm at it.

Looking For

Must haveIntelligence, Humor, Empathy, Sensitivity, Wit, Thoughtfulness
Look for in a partnerAs I cannot separate how a person looks from who they are within, "Good Looks" are really a subjective matter. I've no problem with eccentricity (look who's talking!) and like people who speak their mind without being obnoxious (assertive, rather than aggressive). Someone who knows the difference between infatuation and love and respects themselves, who understands that debate is not argument and is secure within themselves, who is able to be secure within relationship and accepts that we're all in some way imperfect. Someone who likes and accepts themselves as they are and doesn't waste energy pretending they're something they're not and accepts me, likes me, for myself. I look for maturity that is not "stuck in a rut" and wisdom that rises above arrogance. I offer the same in return.
On the first dateI find the concept of dating strange and formal. So, I'll describe an "event". We meet somewhere that's amenable to both of us. There's a sense that we've known one another somewhere before. We make whatever level of eye contact seems comfortable. We walk outdoors somewhere, talking a bit. We might stop for a bite to eat, where I will insist upon paying for "my half" (I believe in fairness). We might go to a movie or museum (50/50 again!), go to a bookstore or Science Surplus place and have a great time looking at gears and gadgetry. We might decide to remain in the natural world and walk for miles along a beach, where we learn about one another and watch the sun set. Then, we'd find a place where we can gaze at the stars in the night sky. After this? We go our respective ways or decide that we've found magic and invent little reasons to remain together, reluctantly parting ways with a promise that we'll see one another again soon and follow through on that promise.
